My name is Terry McCallum. I am a self-taught abstract expressionist artist. I was born in Everett, Washington on Aug. 18, 1946. I grew up in California, and attended the University of California, Berkeley, from 1964-1969. In my third year I was fortunate to attend the University of Madrid, Spain. I moved to Colorado in 1970. In 1977 I married and in 1983 my son Shane was born.
As a child, I did a lot of representational drawing. But 20 years ago, I started painting seriously. During the month of February, 2006, I had 9 of my paintings displayed at Jadite Galleries in Midtown Manhattan. My art was a 15 minute walk from The Museum of Modern Art. It was quite an experience. According to the gallery owner, my art was well-received by the New York art community. My hope is that my paintings will be hanging in homes for many years, and that they will inspire each person who sees them to search for meaning in their own existence.
